Wildfires & Wildflowers started as a response to the devastating wildfires we Californians experienced in January 2025. I volunteered right after the fires to get essential supplies to the people who needed them, but I wanted to do more. So I looked to art. This series incorporates map pieces of California, specifically those areas affected by the fires. I burned the edges of maps, collected the ashes and used house paint, sandpaper, dry wall trowels, nails,  and other house-building materials to create these pieces. I  painted all three of the "So Cal Reseeding" paintings at the same time. I had no idea that I would paint wildflowers- that came about organically, as the composition presented itself.  All artist proceeds from this series will be donated to LA County wildfire relief.
